Nokia N96 on Vodafone
Vodafone is offering the Nokia N96. A signed contract gets you this super phone for free. Vodafone has many plans that will fit anyone's lifestyle or budget.
Nokia brags that the N96 is a multimedia computer. With all the bells and whistles this phone has, you could do away with that big laptop for an easier mobile choice. Honestly, I am trying to figure out just how to list all the great features. I wouldn't want to leave anything out.
Let's start with the Network. 3G network gives you mobile broadband Internet. This is high speed always on Internet. Browsing or visiting your favorite social network is fast. With WiFi you get coverage almost everywhere. The Nokia Download gives you support to download and install add-on applications and widgets. Your email delivered to your phone. This lets you run your business when you are not in the office. The QuickOffice document viewer lets you read and create these types of files; QuickWord, QuickPoint and QuickSheet. The PDF viewer gives you the ability to open all PDF files.
I should mention the GPS along with Nokia Maps will give you directions and let you know where you have been and where you are going.
One other device you can travel without would be a camera. The phone has a 5.0 mega pixel camera complete with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and LED flash. The camera captures real video and lets you view it. Live Video Streaming is like having a web cam in your pocket.
The Live TV feature allows to watch tv on your phone. You have instant replay up to 30 seconds. You can record programs for later viewing. Is this a DVR??? Also available is Multiple subscription and payment methods (pay TV including previews, free-to-air, pay per view), channel and content protection.
If music is important, you can download your favorite music files to play back. Features like an equalizer and visualization gives you many hours of entertainment. You get a FM radio as well as Internet Radio.
Gaming online with Nokia NGage is just another feature that entertains. The phone comes with preloaded try before you buy games. Also included is one Free game download.
You know how important memory is when you have this many programs on one phone. The internal memory is 16 GB. That is huge, but can be bigger with a purchased memory card up to 16 GB. That would be 32 GB of memory in all. Plenty to run all your programs as well as storing all your music, videos, files and photos.
Battery power is also important on a phone like this. Talk time is up to 160 / 230 min (WCDMA / GSM). Standby time is up to 200 / 230 hrs (WCDMA / GSM). Video playbackiis up to 5 hours (offline mode). Music playback is up to 14 hours (offline mode). TV playback: up to 4 hours (DVB-H). I think you won't be disappointed.
I read that they have upgraded the software that took the glitches that were bugging when the phone was brand new. The Nokia N96 is awsome with all the features. You can see why they are bragging that it is a multimedia computer.
